Assignment Details

Our client, IT and cybersecurity organisation that manages critical systems and strengthens digital resilience for the central banking ecosystem, is seeking an experienced HR Functional SME who will partner with the Lead BA/Architect to drive detailed discovery, process design, and functional specification for HR modules within an HRMS platform.
 

The SME will be responsible for:
 Asking the right HR process questions
 Capturing business nuances across the employee lifecycle
 Translating HR policy into system-ready logic
 Ensuring compliance, governance, and scalability
This role is not operational HR — it is a functional design & solutioning role.


Key Responsibilities
 

1️ HR Discovery & Requirement Elicitation

Work alongside the BA in structured workshops and stakeholder discussions.

 Recruitment & Onboarding

 Employee Master Data

 Probation & Confirmation

 Leave & Attendance

 Performance Management

 Compensation & Benefits

 Learning & Development

 Transfers / Promotions

 Separation & Full & Final

 HR Compliance & Letters

Responsibilities:

 Ask probing, structured questions to uncover:

 Policy exceptions

 Approval hierarchies

 Delegation logic

 Role-based access controls

 Multi-location nuances

 Contractual / deputation clauses
 Regulatory dependencies

 Identify edge cases the business may not explicitly state.

 Challenge ambiguous or undocumented practices.

 Capture rule-based logic clearly and completely.

Key Value Add: Convert policy language into system-configurable rules.

2️ HR Policy to System Logic Translation

 Translate HR policies into:

 Workflow definitions

 Rule engines

 Eligibility criteria

 Validation checks

 SLA triggers

Support creation of:

 BRD (Business Requirement Document)

 FSD (Functional Specification Document)

 Process maps

 Configuration design sheets

 Ensure alignment between HR, Payroll, and Finance modules.

3️ Governance, Compliance & Controls

 Ensure HR design complies with:

 Labour codes

 Shops & Establishment norms

 Statutory leave requirements

 Record retention policies

 Embed maker-checker controls.

 Ensure audit trail visibility within the system

4️ Implementation & UAT Enablement

 Define test cases covering normal and exception scenarios

 Validate workflows and approval logic

 Support UAT workshops with HR users

 Identify functional gaps before go-live

 Ensure data integrity during migration

5️ Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
 Work closely with:

 Lead / Architect -BA (requirement structuring)

 HR COEs

 IT/Product teams

 Payroll SME

 Finance stakeholders

 Act as functional authority on HR process queries

Duration: 3 months (Extendable depending on performance)
Location: Mumbai (Navi Mumbai/BKC)

Skills Required

MBA/PGDM in HR from recognized university/institute or Masters Degree in HR/Personnel Management /

Labor laws and/or BE any stream

Desirable :

Certification in HR analytics / HRMS Platforms; SHRM/HRCI Certification ( Pref but not mandatory)

8-12 years of progressive HR experience

Exposure to end-to-end Hire-to-Retire lifecycle

Minimum 2 HRMS implementation / transformation projects

Strong policy drafting and interpretation experience

Experience in regulated environments (PSU / BFSI / IT captive) preferred
