Assignment Details

Clean Technology Vertical, Scale-Up Program

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Strategy: Define the annual roadmap for the Clean Technology vertical, aligned to MIF's broader impact goals.
    Sourcing and Selection: Lead the full funnel of identifying and onboarding high potential clean tech startups, including rigorous business due diligence.
    Growth Acceleration: Serve as portfolio manager for a cohort of clean tech startups, guiding strategic shifts and validated business models toward their scale up milestones.
    Ecosystem Building: Build and maintain a working network of clean tech investors, corporate partners, and technical mentors.
     
  • Process Innovation: Design new program frameworks and toolkits that improve mentorship delivery and impact tracking across the vertical.
    Project Management: Support specialized initiatives such as technology pilots, manage external collaborators and field partners, and contribute to new sector specific programs as MIF's portfolio evolves.
     
  • Finance Operations
    Budget Operations: Own the day to day management of MIF's overall budget, tracking spend against targets across program teams and flagging discrepancies in real time.
    Compliance: Ensure financial processes comply with regulatory standards for CSR funded foundations, including support for statutory audits.
    Cross Functional Coordination: Work across MIF's program teams to assign and reconcile budgets, keeping resource allocation disciplined across the foundation.
    Impact Finance: Develop or create partnerships to develop models to track the “Social Return on Impact” for MIF.

    This is not a contractual role, but a Full-time Employment.

Skills Required

Skills Required:

  • Master's degree in Management (MBA) or equivalent.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in management consulting, venture capital, a strategic role within a high growth startup, or an impact forward organization.
  • Experience specifically with clean technology or climate tech startups is preferred
  • Deep understanding of the Climate Tech landscape, spanning renewable energy, carbon markets, and circular economy.
  • Ability to diagnose complex business bottlenecks, including go to market, supply chain, and fundraising challenges, and design interventions to address them.
  • Proven track record managing CXO level relationships and external industry stakeholders.
  • Strong numerical and financial acumen, with the ability to analyze data and draw statistical conclusions to inform decisions.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and P&L management.
  • Structured, precise written and spoken communication.
