Assignment Details

Our client, a leading American Foundation, is looking to engage with a Strategy Consultant to work towards Global South Cooperation.

- Helps in the development of the strategy and roadmap for the key priorities to be advanced in the countries of priority, by assessing demand and the channels of collaboration in the Global South.
- Engages internally with the Foundation offices in Seattle and in the regions to help develop key priorities of relevance that need to be advanced through the Global South Cooperation.
- Identifies and documents innovations and good practices development solutions across distinct verticals of the Foundation.
- Helps develop position papers, agenda/issues central to the Foundation’s priorities in the Global South.
- Helps develop core messaging and position for the Foundation’s leadership participation in multilateral platforms.
- Engages with relevant ministries and departments in India, on issues that are of priority to advance Global South Cooperation.
- Assists in the creation of tangible outputs, including partnerships between countries, and between governmental and non-governmental actors, to advance the priorities in countries within Global South.
- Assists in the preparation for meetings with other development partners working on the same priorities of advancing SSC. Further, ensuring follow-up action and outcomes from such meetings.

Skills Required

1) Minimum Bachelor's degree and 10+ years related work experience
2) Knowledge of national and state issues, and the broader development context in India
3) Knowledge of state government policy and budget decision making
4) Knowledge of how to use communications to achieve advocacy goals and policy change
5) Knowledge of the state legislative and administrative processes and structures in India pertinent to the client and development research, funding, or policy making.
6) Experience developing, managing and implementing project and grant-making strategies.
7) Experience in the management of strategies, initiatives and programs related to motivating an enhanced governmental response.
8) Ability to work with flexibility, efficiency, enthusiasm, and diplomacy both individually and as part of a complex team effort.
9) Analytical skills; quantitative and qualitative.
10) Excellent written and communication skills in English and Hindi.
11) Excellent relationship management.
12) Excellent project management skills.
13) Sound influencing and negotiation skills.
