Assignment Details

Our client, a leading American Private Foundation, is looking to engage with a Consultant with specialized expertise in Family Health.

Key Deliverables-

- Discussions with the Foundation FH and State HSS teams to understand the vision, way or working and support being requested. As the Foundation moves forward, these discussions will also include updates on both progress and challenges in the field.
- Initial discussions with the UP and Bihar TSUs to understand the landscape of the state, the work done till date, the state government perspectives, and expectations etc. and develop a clear understanding of the support that the consultant will be providing.
- Following the initial meetings, work through a cadence of follow-up of the action plans, either through meetings and discussions and/or field visits to understand progress and challenges in the field and help with suggestions to de-bottleneck some of the same.
- When requested by the Foundation FH / HSS teams, have discussions with other
Foundation supported partners working in the states like UNICEF and FOGSI, to engage them in the process and ensure that the work done under their grants is in sync with the proposed way forward.
- Conduct assessment visits to the states to review the SNCU landscape and explore opportunities for integrating newer evidence into the care model.
- Share the findings of the field visits and assessments with the Foundation, and follow up with working with the TSU and other partners, especially UNICEF, to develop plans for roll-out of models of appropriate care and follow-up of SSNs.
- Support the Foundation FH/HSS teams and partner with the TSUs to document the
processes undertaken and the changes seen in a manner that aids scaling up of efforts across the states which can be used for internal documentation and reporting by the Foundation.

Skills Required

- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders including state government officials, Foundation teams, and partner organizations.
- Project Planning: Proficiency in developing and executing action plans based on initial discussions and ongoing needs assessments
- Team Coordination: Experience in working closely with Technical Support Units (TSUs) and other partners like UNICEF and FOGSI to ensure alignment and synergy in efforts.
- Healthcare Systems Understanding: Familiarity with the landscape of state healthcare systems, especially in relation to SNCU (Special Newborn Care Unit) operations and child health initiatives.
