Our Client, a major Indian business conglomerate is looking for Regulatory Expert (FMCG Food) for Claims Compliance to review the client’s portfolio of snack products and assess whether claims appearing on product packaging are compliant with applicable food regulatory requirements, identifying unsupported, non-compliant or potentially misleading claims and recommending corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio & Claim Audit
- Review packaging artwork / labels across the snack portfolio.
- Catalogue nutrition, health, ingredient, functional, quality and other consumer-facing claims.
Regulatory Compliance Assessment
- Assess each claim against applicable food-labeling and advertising regulations.
- Identify claims that are compliant, require substantiation, need modification, or should be removed.
Substantiation Review
- Review supporting evidence/documentation available for claims, including product specifications, test reports and ingredient data.
- Identify evidence gaps and additional substantiation required.
Risk & Gap Report
- Prepare a claim-by-claim compliance matrix highlighting regulatory risk, rationale and priority.
- Flag high-risk claims requiring immediate action.
Corrective-Action Recommendations
- Recommend compliant wording / claim modifications and documentation requirements.
- Provide guidance to Regulatory, Marketing, R&D and Packaging teams for future claim development.
- Food regulatory affairs / regulatory compliance, preferably FMCG snacks or packaged foods
- Strong knowledge of food labelling, nutrition/health claims and packaging regulations
- Experience conducting claim audits and substantiation reviews
- Ability to interpret regulations and translate them into practical packaging/claim recommendations
- Strong documentation, risk assessment and cross-functional stakeholder management skills
