Assignment Details
Our client is Centre for Social and Behaviour Change (CSBC) at Ashoka University which was set up through a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. They are looking to engage with a consultant who will be responsible for developing an understanding of their projects and designing behavioral solutions to address complex development problems.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Develop an understanding of the projects areas such as maternal health, nutrition, family planning, etc. from the research and policy perspectives by
a. Conducting literature reviews to deepen understanding of the behavioral
science evidence base for identified project areas
b. Leading formative research studies in the field
c. Analyzing and synthesize findings from different sources to diagnose
behavioral challenges
2. Design behavioral solutions to address complex development problems, by:
a. Planning and organizing design workshops with key stakeholders
b. Prototyping intervention ideas to create well-defined intervention models
3. Lead the design and execution of lab and field experiments, with support from the research team, to test the effectiveness of interventions and to iterate them for scale 4. Work closely with the Associate Director in managing relationships with key stakeholders
5. Produce strong project documentation for external circulation, publication etc.
NOTE: This is a full-time role based out of Vasant Vihar, New Delhi
Skills Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, social sciences, public policy, sociology, or related fields
- A minimum of 5-6 years’ work experience in an analytical, quantitative or policy role
- Experience with conducting primary research in semi-urban/rural India
- Deep understanding of varied experimental research methods (Stata, R, MatLab, SAS etc.) and experience in executing lab or field experiments
- Previous experience in overseeing or leading end to end project delivery and of managing teams
- Ability to manage and respond to varied tasks in a quick and efficient manner
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills – to be able to develop strong project documents and briefs
- Strong critical and analytical thinking skills
- Ability to deal with unstructured and changing environments
- Fluency in English and Hindi (Required)
