A leading Indian liberal arts University
Our Client is a leading University and Higher Education group from India. They're Looking to engage with a Research Director for their Social Impact and Philanthropy department.
Key Responsibilities -
The office of the Research Director will
1. Shape the research agenda of the department by identifying relevant contextual issues within India and across the globe
2. Conceptualize and implement teaching programs for students at the university and other initiatives led by the centre.
3. Engrain the culture for scientific research rigour at the Centre
4. Co-create, design and lead in-house research projects from start to finish as well as commission, manage and deliver external research projects in a timely manner. 5. Leverage current existing partnerships and find opportunities for new partnerships and collaborations with stakeholders across various constituencies in India and internationally, including academia, civil society, donor organisations, research partners, government etc.
6. Manage relationships with independent contractors, consultants and research partners
7. Write reports, research papers and long form articles.
8. Represent the department in local and global for a Find opportunities on institutional partnerships and collaborations with stakeholders across various constituencies in India and internationally, including academia, civil society, philanthropists and the government amongst others
9. Make the department a rich curator of knowledge, data and research and engrain the culture for scientific research rig our at the Centre.
1. A Post-Graduate / Master’s degree from a reputed university in Research or Development studies or related field.
2.10-15+ years of relevant work experience in research with an exposure to evolving the research strategy, managing teams, multiple external research partners and donor relationships.
3. Deep understanding of the development sector and its challenges in India
4. Significant experience in undertaking qualitative and quantitative research
5. Ability to work remotely and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
6. Enjoys work in a dynamic and expanding team
7. Right to work in India
8. The candidate should have the flexibility to work on multiple projects, ability to work in a fast moving and dynamic environment, display a natural aptitude for primary and secondary research, and be excited to join a young and dynamic team.
9. The ideal candidate will has to have an exceptional ability to grasp the complexity of social issues, with a strong focus on philanthropy, and social development, and civil society and unpack their various dimensions.
