Key Responsibilities

Design, drive, and continuously evolve hybrid enterprise architectures spanning on-prem systems, OT/shopfloor technologies (MES, SCADA, Historians, LIMS), enterprise IT platforms (SAP, Salesforce, UNS), and Azure cloud-native and AI services.
Define and maintain enterprise-wide reference architectures to standardize integration patterns, data flows, cloud adoption, ML and GenAI platforms, and hybrid connectivity.
Establish and own architectural standards and design principles for AI, ML, and analytics solutions.
Build and enforce architecture governance frameworks across application, data, integration, infrastructure, Responsible AI, and security domains.
Collaborate with business and IT leadership, AI program managers, product owners, and technical leads to translate business needs into scalable, secure architectures and implementation roadmaps.
Lead Build vs. Buy evaluations for AI, data, integration, and platform components, considering feasibility, TCO, vendor maturity, scalability, hybrid fit, and compliance.
Guide application teams on system integration, microservices, API design, and interoperability across enterprise platforms.
Define and lead architecture review and approval processes to ensure consistency and quality across all AI initiatives.
Provide technical leadership across delivery squads by reviewing designs and resolving complex architectural challenges.
Steward enterprise data governance and security architecture, ensuring lineage, cataloging, access controls, encryption, and regulatory compliance.
Drive Zero Trust, identity, network segmentation, and cloud security architectures to meet regulated pharma and audit-readiness requirements.
Establish KPIs for architecture compliance, platform reliability, and AI model performance at scale.
Lead internal teams and external partners (vendors, SIs, cloud providers), ensuring alignment on architecture direction, delivery quality, and operational readiness.
Oversee architectural roadmaps, capacity planning, reporting, and executive communications for AI and data platform programs.
Partner with compliance and regulatory teams to ensure AI systems meet FDA, EMA, ISO, GxP, GDPR, and related requirements.
Stay current with emerging technologies, AI governance frameworks, and industry trends to guide long-term architectural evolution.

Skills Required

Key Skills & Qualifications

12+ years of experience in IT, digital, cloud, and enterprise architecture roles, with 8+ years leading enterprise-scale architecture design and governance across AI platforms, data ecosystems, and hybrid infrastructure.
3+ years of hands-on experience designing or governing hybrid OT–IT–Cloud environments and enterprise AI/ML/GenAI platforms.
Deep expertise in AI/ML lifecycle management, data architectures, security, and Azure cloud-native frameworks.
Proven experience in Build vs. Buy analysis, SaaS selection, vendor evaluation, and platform modernization at scale.
Strong knowledge of data platforms including structured/unstructured data, lakehouse architectures, and real-time processing frameworks.
Experience integrating shopfloor and enterprise systems such as MES, ERP, and CRM (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, UNS).
Solid IT/OT architecture experience enabling secure and reliable plant-to-enterprise integration.
Expertise in Industrial IoT (IIoT) ecosystems, edge architectures, connectivity standards, and ingestion patterns.
Experience defining and implementing Responsible AI frameworks ensuring fairness, transparency, and compliance.
Strong understanding of microservices, DevOps, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD automation.
In-depth knowledge of data privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GxP, GDPR).
Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, IT4IT, BIAN, TM Forum.
Excellent documentation and communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to influence and align cross-functional teams around a shared architectural vision.
Deep domain expertise in pharmaceutical and life sciences environments.
