Our client, a global specialist in energy management and automation, is looking for a Freelance Engineer with expertise in PDF-to-Excel conversion and Excel VBA automation.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industry-standard PDF tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, ABBYY FineReader, or similar software, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
This role involves transforming unstructured or semi-structured PDF files into clean, structured Excel formats, while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and automation capability.
Key Responsibilities:
Convert a wide range of PDF documents into structured Excel templates with high accuracy.
Create or enhance Excel templates to support automation using VBA macros.
Use tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, ABBYY FineReader, Nitro PDF, Foxit PDF, or equivalent software to extract and structure data.
Clean, format, and validate data during and after the conversion process.
Develop automation scripts/macros for data validation, formatting, calculations, and report generation.
Troubleshoot and optimize PDF-to-Excel extraction workflows.
Ensure Excel templates are user-friendly, well-structured, and aligned with business requirements.
Requered Skills and Qualifications:
General
Proven experience in PDF-to-Excel conversion projects.
Hands-on proficiency with PDF conversion and OCR tools, such as:
Adobe Acrobat Pro
ABBYY FineReader
Nitro PDF
Foxit PhantomPDF (or similar tools)
Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, including:
Advanced formulas
Pivot tables
Data cleaning
Conditional formatting
Expert-level knowledge of VBA macros for automation.
Ability to handle large or complex documents while maintaining high accuracy.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualification:
Experience in creating Excel templates for reporting or operational workflows.
Background in data processing, document engineering, or related fields.
Familiarity with data validation frameworks and structured data formats.
