Our client, a leading global specialist in energy management and automation is looking to engage with a Linux Expert with strong technical expertise in Linux systems, networking, and virtualization technologies to join our Embedded Systems Validation and Infrastructure team. This role focuses on configuring, optimizing, and validating real-time, containerized, and virtualized Linux platforms for industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure and optimize Linux-based embedded systems with real-time kernels (PREEMPT_RT).
Create Test Specification to verify if the objectives of the platform have been met
Design and develop Test setup
Develop Automated Test scripts
Set up and manage KVM virtualization and high-performance networking (NICs, SR-IOV).
Integrate and validate Docker/Podman containers in real-time and best-effort environments.
Conduct network performance validation (throughput, latency, jitter, packet loss).
Develop Bash/Python scripts for automation, monitoring, and diagnostics.
Perform real-time system tuning (CPU isolation, scheduler configuration, tuned profiles).
Support automated testing using LAVA and analyze system performance using tools like stress-ng, CoreMark, Sysbench, and iperf3.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and troubleshoot system-level issues.

-7 to 8 years of relevant experience
-Strong Linux and networking expertise.
-Experience with virtualization (KVM) and NIC configuration.
-Proficiency in Bash/Python scripting.
-Knowledge of real-time systems and performance tuning.
- Experience of testing multi-core platforms that run Linux (example - networking equipment)
o Peripherals and Drivers including USB, PCIe, NIC
o Verify compute and network performance
- Experience of Installation, configuration of Linux-RT hosted systems containing KVM hypervisor, Docker containers
- Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting.
- Knowledge of scripting languages and tools for testing the above-mentioned systems
- Experience on testing TCP/IP and Industrial Wired and Wireless Protocols
- Knowledge of Data Models such as Matter, OPC-UA, IEC 61850
- Experience of testing Wireless protocols
- Network traffic Test Equipment like Omicron, Wireshark
- Preferable if experience with LAVA test automation, Yocto/Buildroot, and time synchronization protocols
- 5+ years in embedded Linux or system-level engineering.
- Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, Electronics, or related field.
