Our client, an American multinational manufacturer of confectionery and pet food is looking to engage with a procurement logistics analytics consultant.
Key Responsibilities:
A. The consultant will be responsible for overall project leadership in facilitating budget analytics to identify sourcing opportunities and pipeline development for the Logistics indirect procurement category.
B. In collaboration with the regional Logistics Commercial Director(s), this new role is responsible for identifying value and cost reduction opportunities by leveraging data to support fact-based decisions within the logistics category, identifying better purchasing options, and improving reporting accuracy.
C. Furthermore, this function is expected to deliver important market knowledge to support Logistics purchasing decisions and processes, as well as to assist the Logistics category in operating at best-in-class levels.
D. Conduct market and supplier research to enhance and inform sourcing and negotiation strategies.
E. Cull insights from the analysis, consolidation and scoring of vendor proposals, and make recommendations to Category Managers and business partners.
F. Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and bench-marking analysis. Using industry cost models and benchmarking studies, assess suppliers' core competencies and competitive positioning.
G. They will accomplish this by leveraging data visualization tools on complicated data sets and interpreting mathematical models such as graphs, tables, metrics, and schematics to deliver insights to Category teams, Business partners, and BD leadership.
This is a remote opportunity that spans 12 months with a full time capacity.
A. Bachelor's degree from a university in engineering or business/economics/finance/marketing/computer science
B. A master's degree (or higher) in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or an MBA is strongly sought.
C. 5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing and procurement experience, preferably in the logistics industry
D. Experience with Logistics Sourcing is strongly desired.
E. 5+ years of project management experience, including the ability to handle many concurrent projects requiring regular communication, organization, and time management.
