Assignment Details

Our Client is a leading FMCG firm and are looking to engage with a Logistics Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and procure logistics services including:
    • Inbound Logistics (supplier-to-warehouse transportation)
    • Primary Freight (inter-regional and long-haul)
    • Secondary Freight (last-mile and intra-city)
    • Warehouse Storage (short-term and long-term)
    • CFA Services (distribution, inventory handling, and fulfilment)
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on service capability, cost, and compliance.
  • Conduct supplier due diligence including documentation review, risk assessment, and onboarding.
  • Coordinate and follow up with suppliers for timely quote submissions and clarifications.
  • Analyze quotations, prepare cost comparisons, and support vendor selection decisions.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms for short-term contracts and spot buys.
  • Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely approvals.
  • Maintain procurement documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies and audit requirements.
  • Track logistics spend, monitor KPIs, and prepare reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with finance to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain organized records of contracts, POs, invoices, and supplier communications.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and document minutes for procurement-related discussions.
  • Update procurement databases and supplier contact lists, supporting audit and compliance needs.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and transparency.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-18 years of experience in logistics procurement, operations, or administrative support.
  • Strong understanding of freight, warehousing, and CFA service procurement.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.
  • Nice to Have: Experience with cold chain logistics - temperature-controlled transportation or storage.
