Assignment Details

Key Responsibilities

  • Damage Assessment & Root-Cause Analysis: Identify and quantify product damage across factory packing, loading, transportation, warehousing, handling and last-mile delivery. Investigate recurring issues across logistics routes, initially focusing on the South and East zones.
  • Packaging Optimization: Develop and recommend packaging standards based on panel types and product fragility to minimize damage during transit, storage and handling.
  • Supply Chain & Logistics Improvement: Review existing processes across factory dispatch, fleet operations, courier and rail networks, warehouses, and customer-site delivery to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Process & Control Framework: Establish box-count tracking and reconciliation mechanisms from factory dispatch to customer-site delivery, along with lane-specific handling guidelines.
  • Vendor Performance & Accountability: Develop proof-of-delivery and damage-evidence protocols to support vendor debit claims and establish clear accountability among factory, logistics and installation teams.
  • Pilot Implementation & Rollout: Lead improvement pilots on high-damage logistics routes, measure outcomes and support the rollout of successful interventions across the network.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish weekly tracking mechanisms and performance metrics to monitor damage rates, identify recurring issues and sustain improvements.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Document standard operating procedures, train internal teams and ensure the organization can independently manage and sustain the improvements.

Skills Required

Skills and Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, packaging engineering, distribution optimization or operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated experience in reducing product damage across packaging, transportation, warehousing, material handling or last-mile delivery.
  • Experience designing or improving packaging standards, packing methods, loading practices and handling procedures.
  • Strong understanding of logistics networks, warehouse operations, transportation modes and vendor management.
  • Proven ability to conduct root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions and establish measurable operational improvements.
  • Experience developing SOPs, performance dashboards, tracking mechanisms and process governance frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder management, analytical and project implementation skills.
  • Experience with fragile products, interior products, furniture, panels, building materials or other damage-sensitive materials would be preferred.
