Assignment Details

Our client is an Indian multinational tyre manufacturing company and they are looking to engage with a consultant to develop a long-term business case for their fleet-management technology venture, covering market sizing, growth opportunities, strategy, and go-to-market models.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct market sizing by solution (fuel optimization, uptime improvement, video telematics, OBD sensors, TMS), customer segment, hardware vs. services, and geography.
  • Analyze industry trends for the next 5 years, identify emerging opportunities, and size them with rationale for growth.
  • Evaluate build vs. buy strategy for IoT hardware and recommend the optimal approach for long-term scalability.
  • Assess adjacent industry applications for the business’s solutions and identify top offerings across priority markets in the next 2–5 years.
  • Advise on expansion strategy—whether to grow adjacencies in India (e.g., IIoT) or scale globally with current offerings—and benchmark against global players (e.g., Samsara, Geotab, Uptake).
  • Recommend go-to-market models (direct sales, SI partnerships, hybrid), prioritization of OEM opportunities, and required internal capabilities to succeed.
  • Prepare and deliver a comprehensive long-term business case with strategy, opportunity sizing, resource requirements, and execution roadmap.

Skills Required

  • Strong expertise in fleet management technology, IoT solutions, and SaaS-based business models.
  • Deep understanding of P&L management, business strategy, and market entry/expansion models.
  • Knowledge of global players in the space (e.g., Samsara, Geotab, Uptake, Wialon, Netradyne, Locus) and their business models.
  • Proven ability in market sizing, opportunity assessment, and financial modeling.
  • Strong problem-solving and first-principles thinking approach.
  • Excellent skills in consulting, research, and preparing strategic business cases with actionable recommendations.
