Assignment Details

Our client, a leading global specialist in Energy Management and Automation, is seeking an Independent Fundraising and Value Creation Consultant.

Scope (Pre-Closing – Fundraising)

Key Responsibilities:

Support SEEAA-II fundraising efforts by ensuring continuous improvement of the pitch deck presentation based on various materials (e.g. masterclass training, etc.) and feedback.
Source leads globally with a focus on Hong Kong-based investors (through events, networking, etc.) and actively follow up to convert them into opportunities.
Contribute to due diligence (investor queries, data room, etc.) and the structuration process (TBC).
Create thought leadership content to attract investors and drive engagement.
Support the revamping of impact and E&S strategy and processes for Fund II, incorporating learnings from Fund I.
Value Enhancement with SEEAA-I Companies:
Collaborate with portfolio companies to identify and implement value creation opportunities such as operational improvements, scalability initiatives, and market expansion strategies aligned with impact fund objectives and stakeholder expectations.
Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice dissemination among portfolio companies to foster continuous improvement in impact performance.
Enhance E&S impact and conduct impact assessments in collaboration with the Impact and E&S Analyst (Damien).
Join companies’ boards as needed to strengthen value creation discussions and ensure alignment with impact fund objectives.
Engage with fund investors and stakeholders to communicate value creation initiatives and ensure strategic alignment.
Support engagement with potential buyers to prepare for potential exits.
Seek and implement potential synergies with Schneider Electric businesses (TBC).
Thought Leadership:
Contribute to the broader impact investing community by sharing insights, participating in industry events, and staying updated on emerging trends in value creation and impact measurement.


Scope (Post-Closing – Value Creation and Strategy)

Key Responsibilities:

Support pipeline assessment for SEEAA-II by ensuring deal-flow generation through networking, market research, and building long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
Contribute to impact investment due diligence by assessing potential for value creation, leveraging resources within the Schneider Electric ecosystem, and enhancing impact within prospective portfolio companies.
Assess portfolio companies’ needs that can be addressed through Schneider Electric technical assistance and create synergies with the Schneider Electric ecosystem where appropriate.
Drive value enhancement strategies with SEEAA-I and SEEAA-II companies and participate in governance bodies where required.
Engage with fund investors and other stakeholders to communicate on value creation initiatives, ensuring alignment and high-quality reporting.
Thought Leadership:
Contribute to the broader impact investing community by sharing insights, participating in industry events, and staying informed on emerging trends in value creation and impact measurement.
Assist in marketing and promotion activities where required.

Additional Support:
Support investment managers in appraising investment proposals, ensuring alignment with SEEAA-II strategy.
Conduct in-depth analysis of business plans, including financial and impact analysis.
Lead due diligence, financial modelling, and negotiation of legal agreements, working with specialist legal advisors to review investment documentation for consistency with agreed commercial terms and investment policies.

Skills Required

Skills and Competencies Required:

Strong understanding of fundraising processes, investor relations, and capital structuring.
Proven experience in impact investing, private equity, or venture capital.
Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills.
Strong communication and presentation abilities to engage effectively with investors and stakeholders.
Ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable value creation initiatives.
Sound understanding of ESG principles, impact measurement frameworks, and sustainability reporting.
Relationship management and networking skills, with experience engaging institutional investors, LPs, and industry partners.
Strategic and creative mindset with the ability to identify and implement operational improvement opportunities.
High level of initiative, ownership, and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.


Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Sustainability, or a related field (MBA preferred).
8–12 years of relevant experience in fundraising, private equity, impact investing, or strategy consulting.
Experience working with international stakeholders and global investor networks.
Familiarity with ESG frameworks, sustainability assessments, and impact measurement tools (e.g., IRIS+, GIIN, SDGs) is an advantage.
Prior experience working with development finance institutions (DFIs), impact funds, or multinational corporations is preferred.
