Our client, a first-of-its-kind Action Tank that is bringing together stakeholders from business, academia, and government to help India create 10m jobs is looking to engage with a Power Sector Consultant who combines consulting-level analytical rigor with a strong understanding of power systems and energy policy.
Key Responsibilities
• Power system modelling and planning: Renewable energy integration, transmission network
planning, and distribution network planning.
• System flexibility and generation strategy: Storage strategy, thermal fleet strategy, and system
reliability planning.
• Power sector reform and utility transformation: Discom financial turnaround strategies and
distribution sector reforms.
• Energy transition sectors: Integration of e-mobility, energy efficiency, and biofuels into power
system and energy transition planning.
• Structure complex power sector challenges into clear analytical problems and hypotheses,
developing robust frameworks to guide analysis and identify the most critical drivers of sector
outcomes.
• Conduct rigorous quantitative analysis and techno-economic assessments, including scenario
modelling to evaluate alternative pathways for power system evolution and energy transition
strategies.
• Analyse key sector issues related to renewable energy integration, grid and network planning,
power market design, and regulatory and institutional reforms.
• Engage closely with government agencies, regulators, utilities, developers, and sector experts
to gather insights, validate analytical findings, and build practical, implementable solutions.
• Translate analytical insights into clear, decision-ready outputs, including policy
recommendations.
Note-
Location will be Mumbai or Bhubaneswar. Project-related travel will be required.
