Our client, a Leading Hospital Chain in India seeks to engage with an experienced Strategy Consultant to lead a team driving pricing and contracts harmonization across the hospital network.
The ideal candidate will bring 10-15 years of strategy experience, with a solid background in the hospital domain and strong finance and data analysis skills. Proficiency in Excel, including macros, is crucial. The consultant will lead a team of 3 junior analysts and research consultants.
Key Responsibilities
1. Analyze Pricing Practices: Conduct a thorough examination of current pricing practices across individual hospitals in the whole chain, considering factors such as specialty, location, and other jointly defined parameters.
2. Identify Insights:
Extract key insights from the analysis to determine what is working well and where there is room for improvement, to understand best practices and price ranges.
3. Study Competitor Pricing:
Research and understand pricing principles used by competitors in key markets to inform strategic decisions.
4. Develop a Pricing Framework:
Design a standardized pricing framework to be used across the hospital chain, accounting for regional variations and competition.
5. Implement Pricing Harmonization:
Collaborate with regional teams to implement the agreed pricing harmonization initiatives. Develop a detailed plan and monitor its progress. Negotiate with major partner to onboard them via contracts on the PAN India pricing framework for the hospital chain.
6. Monitor and Refine:
Continuously track the implementation process, evaluating its success and making necessary refinements as required.
7. Provide Guidance:
Offer expertise and guidance on pricing-related inquiries. Communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Key Deliverables
1. Data Collection and Analysis:
Collect information on tariffs and pricing across three tiers—Metro, Tier 2, and Tier 3—within the hospital network. Analyze this data to identify disparities and standardize pricing across India.
2. Standardize Hospital Tariffs:
Harmonize tariffs for hospital services, ensuring a consistent pricing structure across all locations.
3. Negotiation with Stakeholders and Partners:
Work with insurance providers and public institutions to ensure they align with the harmonization strategy. Lead discussions and negotiations to reach agreements on standardized pricing and conduct contracting for the same.
This project is for a duration of 6 Months, based at the client's headquarters i.e. Chennai and requires the consultant to devote Full Time Capacity in an Onsite (In-office) model.
1. 10-15 years of strategy experience, ideally in the hospital or healthcare domain.
2. Strong background in finance, data analysis, and Excel, including the use of macros.
3. Knowledge regarding hospital pricing mechanism is a plus
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to lead a team and collaborate with stakeholders.
5. Proven track record of implementing strategy projects from conception to completion.
6. Ability to lead a team of junior resources, manage the project and deliver the final output timely.
