Assignment Details

Our client, a leading Pharmaceutical Firm, is looking to engage with a Senior Consultant who can help them with landscaping and benchmarking of their Global Capability Centre (GCC) space in Pharma and identify what approach they should take towards this.

1. Landscaping the GCC Space in the Pharma Context:
a. Analyze the approaches taken by leading players in the pharmaceutical industry, including both multinational corporations (MNCs) and Indian companies, with a focus on organizations such as AstraZeneca (AZ) and Pfizer.
b. Explore the types of skills and capabilities being leveraged, such as clinical trial management, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, etc.
c. Evaluate the geographic choices being made, comparing India against other potential locations, and provide rationale for these decisions.

2. Developing a Strategic Framework for Shared Service Capability:
a. Assist in creating a strategic framework for the client to consider the establishment of a shared service capability.
b. Consider parameters such as scale (both current and expected), core competencies, and targeted skills.
c. Identify expected benefits and necessary investments associated with building a shared service capability.

3. Facilitating Senior Leadership Discussions:
a. Facilitate discussions with senior leadership to outline the opportunities and benefits of establishing a shared service capability.
b. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop a comprehensive strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.

4. Identifying Approach to Building the GCC:
a. Propose a comprehensive approach to building the Global Capability Center (GCC), distinguishing between in-house activities and potential outsourcing opportunities.
b. Develop broad timelines for key milestones and deliverables throughout the establishment process.

5. Outlining Business Case for CEO and Senior Leadership:
a. Prepare a detailed business case for presentation to the CEO and senior leadership team, highlighting the potential benefits and value proposition of establishing a GCC.
b. Clearly articulate the strategic rationale and anticipated return on investment (ROI) associated with the initiative.

This role is for a Duration of 2-3 Months and requires the Consultant to devote Part Time Capacity in a Remote Model.

Skills Required

- Minimum 20 years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Experience building or running a GCC in the pharma sector, either within a pharma company or through an IT services provider.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and change management skills.
- Deep understanding of pharmaceutical landscape, regulations, and market trends.
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and influencing abilities at all levels.
