Assignment Details

Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Support in IFS India programming:
a. Work closely with the India IFS lead to support the delivery of IFS’ India
strategy to develop and manage grants, contracts, and other interventions to
advance the IFS team's goals in India and globally
b. Engage with grantees and partners being supported through the ‘IFS India’
BOW to review outputs for technical rigor and alignment with BOW intended
outcomes and alignment to strategy
c. Facilitate synergy and cross-learning across partners to align their progress
towards common BOW goals
d. Identify risks and manage them proactively
e. Facilitate discussions with partners and internal team, experts from other
programs, and external experts, to socialize portfolio goals,
gather input, and engage with relevant stakeholders

2. Support in grant-making and processing:
a. Support, as needed, the development of new grants in the areas of BC agent
network development, digital merchant payments and productive credit, DFS
usage, financial inclusion for women and impact assessment
b. Through material development and evidence gathering, support the
development of grant narratives that are in alignment with the IFS India
BOW and IFS priorities
c. Support in the coordination needed to align stakeholders externally and
within the foundation to allow for consensus and grant approvals

3. Support in portfolio strategy alignment:
a. Through material development and evidence gathering, support the IFS
team’s engagement with other teams at the foundation to :
b. Support the development of materials for ICO and IFS leadership
engagement for strategy review and approval
c. Support the translation of approved strategies into execution plans
d. Support the facilitation of discussions with internal teams, experts from other
programs, and external experts, to socialize proposed strategic
pivots, gather input, and inject fresh thinking into the program

4. Support in stakeholder management and advocacy:
a. Through material development and evidence gathering, support the IFS
team’s engagement with the leadership, external stakeholders and
government bodies to socialize the learnings coming out of the existing
portfolio and new investments

Skills Required

Skills required:
1. Should have worked in Financial services for Poor domain
2. Strong understanding of financial inclusion, inclusive financial systems, and the challenges faced by underserved communities in accessing financial services.
3. Experience in managing strategic and tactical assignments within the financial inclusion sector, including overseeing grant-making processes, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
4. Ability to identify potential risks to project success and develop proactive mitigation strategies to address them.
