Our client, a leading Consulting firm, is looking for an experienced Associate Strategy Consultant (Feasibility Study).
About the Project:
We are supporting a global innerwear/lifestyle brand in evaluating its potential India market entry. The goal is to enable a confident Go/No-Go decision based on rigorous analysis of regulatory compliance, consumer demand, and competitive dynamics—while crafting a differentiated brand strategy tailored to Indian men across diverse demographics and psychographics.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Entry Assessment
Conduct market sizing and growth analysis across urban metros, Tier 2/3 cities, and Gen Z consumer segments.
Analyze buyer behavior across daily wear, athleisure, and fashion-forward sub-segments.
Evaluate readiness of India’s retail and D2C infrastructure (cost-to-serve, channels, logistics).
Assess feasible entry models (e.g., licensing, distribution, JV, D2C).
Deliverable: Clear Go / No-Go / Qualified Go recommendation.
2. Brand & Differentiation Strategy
Develop a comfort-tech brand narrative adapted to Indian body types and climate.
Identify innovation levers (e.g., skin-safe fabrics, sweat-wicking, size inclusivity).
Segment consumers into lifestyle clusters (ages 15–55), mapping aspirations and purchasing behavior.
Explore brand playbooks (e.g., body positivity, mental health, sustainable packaging).
Conduct IP review: trademarks, licensing clauses, influencer/IP usage compliance.
Deliverable: Attacker brand positioning strategy vs incumbents.
3. Competitive Benchmarking
Develop a Price-Quality matrix comparing incumbents like Jockey, Van Heusen, XYXX, DaMENSCH, etc.
Map competitor footprint by channel: modern trade, e-commerce, quick commerce, D2C.
Scorecard analysis of comfort, fabric technology, and fit.
Evaluate UX and channel innovation levers: subscriptions, product bundling, rural reach.
Build an influencer/advertising heatmap with ROI benchmarks.
Deliverable: Basis of competition and white space identification.
Approach & Methodology:
Align with client stakeholders to understand business goals and key assumptions.
Conduct secondary research using both public and paid sources (client-approved).
Develop and iterate on a working hypothesis throughout the engagement.
Conduct ~10 qualitative interviews per value chain stakeholder group: importers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and competitors.
Synthesize insights into actionable strategy and final recommendation.

Candidate Requirements:
- 3-6 years of experience in strategy consulting, brand management, consumer insights, or market entry advisory
- Prior exposure to fashion, lifestyle, or D2C brands preferred
- Proven ability to synthesize market data and consumer insights into strategic recommendations
- Strong understanding of Indian consumer segments and retail channels
- Experience conducting and synthesizing primary research interviews
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outcome-oriented environment
