Assignment Details

The Communications support would be required to correspond with employees and external stakeholders to keep them informed of organisation developments. For external engagement, the person would liaison with the PR agency and social media agency as and when indicated by the vertical head. Internally, the person would be responsible for coordinating with different departments and ensuring that employees are aware of changes and projects within the organisation.

We are looking for experts with strong co-ordination, written/oral, proof reading and research skills. The expert would be required to:

1. Convert field learnings into inspiring case studies (sending questionnaires to the on-ground staff, collecting responses and drafting case studies).
2. Support in ideation of campaigns in social media.
3. Create video narratives in conjunction with the videographers.
4. Supporting the vertical with managing the organisation’s online presence including its websites and other social media platforms.
5. Assisting with the development of documents, including publications, and communication materials and newsletters.
6. Editing and proofreading of materials.
7. Coordinating with external vendors

The role is based in Gurgaon.

About the Client

With a total commitment of USD75 million, The Rockefeller Foundation has incubated Smart Power for Rural Development (SPI), a wholly-owned subsidiary, to promote sustainable business models that deliver renewable electricity and spur economic development amongst the underserved rural populations. The initiative aims to electrify 1,000 villages in the next three years. This initial plan will impact more than one million lives, with an ultimate goal of establishing self-sustaining momentum in the market for a new rural electrification model. SPI will be the driving force behind implementation in India and will work closely with a range of stakeholders critical to developing an eco-system needed to scale up the market. SPI will carry out four distinct functions:
• Project development support to assist Energy Services Companies (ESCOs) in structuring their engagement in terms of financing, business modeling, site and cluster selection, procurement, training, etc.
• Business development and contracting, to facilitate agreements with telecom tower companies, ESCOs, investors, technology and equipment providers etc.
• Load development & community engagement to ensure strong local ownership, economic development, and sustained demand for power
• Policy and regulatory engagement to align incentives between government, investors and ESCOs and create long-term stakes in off-grid and grid-interactive models
