Assignment Details

We are looking for a Business & Operations Consultant with extensive experience in running discount broking operations in India. The consultant will support operational design, regulatory processes, and business execution to help build and launch a new discount broking platform.


Key Responsibilities;

  • Set up end-to-end operations for a new discount broking platform, including onboarding, KYC, trade support, settlements, and customer servicing workflows.
  • Design and institutionalize back-office processes and operational SLAs.
  • Work with product and engineering teams to define business logic for back-office systems and RMS.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with SEBI, exchanges, and depository requirements.
  • Support vendor evaluation and integration for KYC, back-office, payment systems, and trading infrastructure.
  • Align processes for service delivery, error handling, risk controls, and customer experience.
  • Provide expertise on costing, scalability, and operational efficiency for discount broking models.

NOTE;

Duration - 3 months (tentative; can be extended based on performance)
Location- Mumbai Preference: full-time in office, open to hybrid

Skills Required

  • 5+ years of experience in operations/business roles in the Indian discount broking ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of brokerage business models, customer lifecycle, and support operations.
  • Hands-on experience with back-office technology, RMS workflows, clearing & settlement processes.
  • Deep knowledge of SEBI regulations, exchange requirements, and compliance norms.
  • Experience leading cross-functional coordination with tech, compliance, and support teams.
  • Proven ability to set up scalable operations from scratch.
  • Familiarity with broking vendor ecosystem: KYC systems, back-office providers, payment gateways, DP services, etc.
