Assignment Details

Our client, a leading tiles company, is looking for an independent consultant, who can deliver following roles : 


1. Delivering the Product vision
- We have a 3-9 month product vision. The consultant needs to understand the vision and roadmap it. Break it down into short sprints/experiments and MVPs.
- Operate with a frugal, garage mindset: test with prototypes, no‑code/low‑code where possible, then harden into scalable builds once value is proven. - Make pragmatic build / buy / partner calls, including using freelancers, niche studios, and agencies where they beat in‑house on speed &/or cost.

2. Tilekart – Our proprietary lead generation engine
- Design and ship conversational chatbot flows for lead capture and product discovery, iterating quickly based on data and call‑center feedback.
- Prototype and deploy AI agents for outbound sales calls, starting with focused use‑cases and scaling as uplift is proven.
- Leverage AI to integrate website analytics, performance marketing data, call‑center data, and on‑ground spends to drive frugal, ROI‑driven marketing decisions.

3. Shopper mobile app – visualizing tiles to drive sales conversion
- Own technology and UX choices for the visualization app (AI-first) considering device constraints, performance, and total cost of ownership.
- Build a lean first version that allows takes size, color, design of the tile limited to their own/dealer inventory while delivering rich visualization.
-Define the role of this AI-first visualisation tool with respect to the existing Quicklook/Instalook/Trialook to increase usage of visualisation solutions.

4. OBL Connect – orders, community, nudges
- Evolve OBL Connect from order capture tool to daily‑use app for sales teams and channel partners with a community feel.
- Implement low‑cost experiments for nudges and cross‑sell/upsell journeys before investing in heavy engineering.
- Use simple content formats (short videos, pushes, templates) to send information and schemes quickly to the field.
5. Team building – in‑house plus extended bench
- Build a small, sharp internal team across PM, design, and engineering including junior developers who can learn and ship.
- Set up a vetted bench of freelancers and agencies (for 3D, AI, design, and engineering) and know when to spin work out vs pull it in‑house.
- Put in place lightweight processes, documentation, and coding standards so scrappy work can be stabilized into long‑term assets.

Skills Required

  • 15–18 years total, including having headed product (Head of Product / VP Product / CPO) at an early‑stage or growth‑stage startup where resources were constrained.
  • Demonstrated experience building 0→1 and 1→10 products with small, mixed‑skill teams (diploma holders, junior devs, freelancers, and agencies).
  • Exposure to B2C/B2B2C apps and internal tools in retail, e‑commerce, SaaS, or sales enablement; experience in building materials/home improvement is a plus.
  • Technical fluency: comfortable evaluating 3D/visualization stacks, mobile performance constraints, and AI/ML‑driven features.
  • Garage builder: loves hacking together early versions, testing with real users, and iterating over polishing PPTs.
