Our client, a leading global FMCG organization, wants to engage with a Executive Chef.
About the Role
We are seeking a Executive Chef (Sous Chef or higher) to join the India team. The role focuses on leveraging culinary expertise and networks to support New Product Development (NPD), identify emerging food trends, manage key relationships with HORECA clients, and create impactful content for social media marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and contribute to the growth of focus channels with culinary know-how and expertise via solution selling.
2. Translate insights into product ideas and applications related to country project/briefs.
3. Assist marketing in developing and evaluating creative concepts, and develop applications with quality recipes according to project briefs.
4. Design training materials and run training sessions for new product training and application training for the team.
5. Audit and promote culinary technology practices in the product development area.
6. Assist in formulation optimization and fine-tuning to production scale.
7 Test developed products in applications according to project briefs.
8. Conduct evaluation sessions on developed products with chef panels/internal customers, setting standards and golden rules for new product development, and applying formulation principles to influence quality, cost, and convenience in products.
9. Execute within relevancy of raw material, costs, process, requirements, and shelf life.
10. Support and be a presenter in roadshows, events, and activities that require chef demonstrations.
11. Coordinate with internal teams from Customer Development, CD Ops, R&D, CD Capability, Marketing, and related functions to ensure smooth and efficient operations supporting the business growth plan.
12. Implement other activities as directed by the Line Manager.
13. Ensure compliance with company Code of Business Principles and Safety Standards.
14. Leverage networks of chefs across India to identify emerging culinary trends and opportunities.
15. Manage and strengthen relationships with key HORECA clients, providing solution-based culinary support.
16. Provide engaging culinary content for social media marketing (SMM), including recipe ideation, demonstrations, and chef tips.
Skills Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or higher in leading hotels or foodservice organizations.
- Strong knowledge of the Indian foodservice and HORECA industry.
- Excellent culinary expertise with creativity in menu and recipe development.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and translate emerging food trends into product or business opportunities.
- Basic understanding of R&D, marketing, and sales processes.
- Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel PAN India as required.
- Proactive, business-oriented mindset with problem-solving skills.
- Computer literacy, especially MS Office and recipe management software.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
