Key Roles & Responsibilities
Lean Assessment & Opportunity Identification
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to evaluate current state operations and identify
opportunities for process optimization
- Conduct time-motion studies to map machine utilization and operator workflows, and
quantify non-value-added activities
- Perform value stream mapping to visualize inventory flow and locate bottlenecks in
material and information flow
Design & Implementation of Improvements
- Translate identified opportunities into tangible improvement projects (e.g., Kaizens,
SMED, line balancing, flow optimization)
- Collaborate with production floor teams (operators, supervisors) to validate hypotheses
and uncover operational pain points
- Conduct root cause analysis of gaps between nameplate and actual capacity of machines;
recommend data-driven improvement actions
Program & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to co-develop solutions,
run pilots, and implement changes
- Develop project charters, define KPIs, and create detailed workplans for each initiative
- Drive regular reviews with stakeholders to track progress, remove roadblocks, and ensure
sustainability of improvements
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret operational data and
derive insights
- Proficient in lean tools (VSM, RCA, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.) and digital data capture for time
studies
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence shop floor as well as mid-level
management
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple
workstreams
Qualifications
- Graduate / Post-Graduate in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or
Mechanical Engineering
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operational excellence or lean implementation in a
manufacturing environment
- Prior experience in auto industry / other discrete manufacturing setups is preferred
