Assignment Details

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide legal and regulatory guidance on product claims, packaging, labeling, advertisements, and marketing communications in compliance with FSSAI regulations and applicable food safety laws.
  • Review promotional and advertising materials to ensure regulatory adherence and minimize legal exposure.
  • Coordinate with business teams to ensure timely implementation of evolving food safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements, including:
    • Supply chain and procurement contracts
    • Vendor and customer agreements
    • Project management (PM) agreements
    • Retail and modern trade contracts
    • Treasury-related documents including Bank Guarantees and Comfort Letters
    • HR and facilities-related agreements
  • Provide legal risk assessments and practical business-oriented solutions during contract negotiations.
  • Ensure contractual documentation aligns with company policies and legal standards.
  • Support legal and compliance requirements for various business channels including:
    • E-commerce platforms
    • Modern trade
    • Institutional sales
    • Airports and railway channels
    • Offline retail distribution networks
  • Review channel-specific agreements and advise stakeholders on legal and operational risks.
  •  internal policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Drive compliance awareness initiatives, audits, and monitoring programs across business functions.
  • Support implementation and enhancement of internal legal and compliance processes.
  • Manage trademark filings, renewals, oppositions, and enforcement matters in coordination with external law firms.
  • Support brand protection initiatives and monitor IP infringements.
  • Maintain and manage the company’s intellectual property portfolio.
  • Advise HR and business leaders on employment laws, workplace policies, disciplinary actions, employee disputes, and statutory obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and employment regulations.
  • Support drafting and review of employment-related policies and documentation.
  • Handle pre-litigation and litigation matters across business functions.
  • Draft legal notices, responses, and settlement communications.
  • Coordinate with external counsel and monitor ongoing disputes and legal proceedings.
  • Maintain litigation records and provide periodic updates to management.

Skills Required

Experience and Skills

 

  • LLB / LLM from a recognized institution.
  • Relevant experience in legal, compliance, and commercial contracting roles.
  • Strong understanding of FSSAI regulations, contract law, labour laws, and corporate legal practices.
  • Experience working with FMCG, food & beverage, retail, or manufacturing industries preferred.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional business environment.
