Assignment Details

Our client, a leading steel manufacturing company in India is looking for a Project Manager to Align with overall objective of Services & Solutions business to meet long & short-term objectives for the division by understanding existing and future needs of the customers. Management & execution of Civil and Structural jobs of various growth and sustenance projects within time and allocated budget, with close coordination with Category Managers, Engineering, Procurement group and with customer departments. Ensuring process and construction safety and adherence to quality standards during project execution.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Construction Safety:
a) Implement Safety Standards in Nest-In Projects
b) Conduct Safety Line walk, Safety audits and ensure zero harm at site in line with the overall objective of the organization.
c) Implementation of SOPs, implementation of Safety Standards during project execution, Ensuring compliance to mass meetings and mock drills.
d) Plan for corrective and preventive measures to ensure that all the sites are accidents free.
e) To ensure full compliance of Tata Steel Safety standards during construction. Monitoring safety performance of contractors
f) Ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions by contractors, Conducting safety audit and observations
g) Identification and implementation of safety improvement initiatives
h) Generation of MIS and providing feedback to Procurement Group, regarding safety performance of contractors
i) Imparting training to Solution Partner on construction safety and ensure its compliance across all sites.

2. Development of Construction & Project management Processes
a) Engineering approval/comment and Co-ordination with engineering team/consultant for on time engineering approval of civil & structural drawings.
b) Study the project scope through project brief and study the detail scope of work.
c) Anchoring on-site construction activities as per given drawings to ensure project completion with time & cost parameters.
d) Identification and implementation of Improvement opportunities in order to reduce cost and time of construction
e) Co-ordination with project execution team to meet the project related requirements at site.
f) Monitoring the progress & creation of MIS with planning team
g) Preparation of micro-plan for related civil & structural jobs, in consultation with Solution Partners.
h) Coordination with customer departments and other maintenance agencies to arrange for shutdown and other resources
i) Implement Project management and control processes at Solution Partners
j) Impart training to the ecosystem of partners, territory project managers & site engineers.

3. Ensure Time & cost adherence with no deviation
a) Preparation and review of Project Schedule for all projects in the region
b) Guide field project managers to prepare project schedules for all projects
c) Stringent Monitoring of on filed and PM related activities
d) Track activities and report delay statement, request for time extension of order
4. Sourcing & Supply of resources for project
a) Participation in technical discussion with different vendors along with Engineering group and consultants, to finalize Technical recommendations, before placement of orders.
b) Ensure planning for supply of steel & non-steel material for upcoming projects
c) Ensure timely Manufacturing & supply of Steel & non-steel Component

Skills Required

1. Experience of 7 - 10 years in Prefab construction / Civil construction /LGSF Construction, Project management, Project planning, construction planning, structural fabrication and erection
2. Bill processing in system, should have good skill on MIS preparation, project review techniques, Scheme preparation / BOQ preparation / cost estimation etc.
3. Knowledge of behaviour of different structural elements, construction materials like Rebar, Cement, structural steel etc. will be an added advantage
