Our client a Hyderabad-based tech company specializing in AI, Application Development, IT Management, Service Management & Consulting Services is looking for a Consultant- Product Development Engineer, Food & Grocery Delivery Platform.
The Consultant will be responsible for tasks related to research and development, mechanical engineering, product development, and product design. The consultant will work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, reliable, and innovative features that enhance the user experience and drive business growth. This role requires a strong technical background, a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions, and a deep understanding of the food delivery industry and customer needs.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to understand product requirements, user stories, and technical specifications specific to the food & grocery delivery domain.
- Design and implement software features and enhancements for our food & grocery delivery platform, focusing on scalability, reliability, and usability.
- Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code using appropriate programming languages and frameworks, with a strong emphasis on backend development.
- Work on various aspects of the platform, including order management, delivery tracking, payment processing, and user authentication, ensuring a seamless end-to-end experience for customers and delivery partners.
- Participate in architectural discussions, design reviews, and technical decision-making processes to ensure alignment with product requirements and long-term scalability.
- Write automated tests to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of software solutions, and participate in code reviews and quality assurance processes.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues reported by customers or identified during testing, providing timely resolutions and fixes to ensure a smooth user experience.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering and the food delivery industry, leveraging insights to drive product innovation and improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, customer support, and operations, to address customer feedback, prioritize feature requests, and drive continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the overall success of the engineering team by sharing knowledge, mentoring junior engineers, and participating in team activities and initiatives.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (2-3 years) in software engineering roles, with a focus on product development and delivery, preferably in the food delivery, e-commerce, or related industry.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Laravel, Java, Python, or similar languages, and experience with backend frameworks and technologies (e.g., Spring Boot, Django).
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices, including agile/scrum, version control systems (e.g., Git), and continuous integration/delivery.
- Experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and familiarity with database design and optimization principles.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to understand complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
