Assignment Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide part-time technical and strategic support to the SS&PF Health Systems Design portfolio, with a focus on strengthening health financing and strategic purchasing in India.
  • Engage with grantees and partners such as NHA, ESIC, CGHS, HTAIn, and DHR to review outputs for technical rigor and alignment with intended outcomes.
  • Facilitate synergy and cross-learning across partners working on evidence-based HBP design, costing and price-setting systems, HTA translation, and clinical guidelines.
  • Identify risks across implementation and support proactive mitigation.
  • Facilitate discussions with partners, internal teams, and external experts to bring in global and local best practices and strengthen coherence across workstreams.
  • Challenge assumptions and strengthen the analytical and logical foundations of approaches related to pricing, benefit design, and use of evidence.
  • Contribute to the development and review of grants in areas such as strategic purchasing, costing systems, HTA translation, and quality of care.
  • Support development of approaches to institutionalize cost data systems and price-setting processes across public insurers.
  • Support integration of analytical and cost evidence into decision-making processes.
  • Support coordination required for stakeholder alignment and grant approvals.
  • Develop materials and synthesize evidence to support engagement with foundation leadership and internal teams.
  • Support translation of strategic priorities into execution plans.
  • Facilitate discussions with internal and external experts to refine and socialize strategic directions.
  • Support engagement with key stakeholders and dissemination of learnings emerging from the portfolio.

Skills Required

  • Technical expertise in health financing and strategic purchasing.
  • Ability to review outputs for technical rigor and alignment with intended outcomes.
  • Experience in evidence-based HBP design, costing and price-setting systems, HTA translation, and clinical guidelines.
  • Capability to identify implementation risks and support mitigation.
  • Skills in facilitating discussions with partners, internal teams, and external experts.
  • Ability to bring in global and local best practices and strengthen coherence across workstreams.
  • Strong analytical and logical reasoning related to pricing, benefit design, and use of evidence.
  • Experience contributing to grant development and review processes.
