Role Overview
We are looking for a senior expert to advise on strategy for India’s hydrocarbons-linked bilateral trade agreements. The role involves providing high-level guidance, shaping negotiation positions, and engaging with the client team on trade policy and economic diplomacy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide strategic advisory on bilateral FTAs with a focus on crude oil, gas, and petroleum product trade.
2. Support the client team with negotiation insights, economic diplomacy considerations, and sector-specific strategy.
3. Participate in key discussions, consultations, and review sessions with stakeholders.
Location: Hybrid (Part-time capacity)
Duration: 6 months
Skills & Experience Required:
- Senior-level background in hydrocarbons policy, trade negotiations, or international economic diplomacy.
- Experience as: Ex-bureaucrat (e.g., IFS, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas) or Senior professional from UNESCAP, UNCTAD, WTO, World Bank, ADB, or similar bodies focused on trade
- Hands-on experience working on bilateral trade agreements, especially involving energy security and hydrocarbons.
- Strong understanding of India’s crude import structure and petroleum product export ecosystem.
- Ability to advise at a strategic level and work with senior stakeholders.
