We are looking for a consultant who has deep experience with India’s financial markets – structure, hierarchy, intermediaries, regulations, as well as key players with basic understanding of U.S. financial markets so as to draw a comparison between India and the U.S.
There are three phases to this project
1. Primer on the Indian financial services market - Basic stats and facts about the market. Draw out the key features of the Indian financial services industry, especially focused on the corporate governance side. Roles and responsibilities of SEBI, key stock exchanges like the BSE, corporate issuers, broker-dealers, clearing & settlement agencies, and banks. Also include the state of the advisory industry – who the key players are, different types of advisors, strengths and weaknesses etc. contrast and compare with U.S. or other global markets as much as feasible
2. Regulatory framework - also an outside in approach. Key rules and regulations that manage corporate governance in the country - how it impacts issuers, brokers, advisors, investors etc.
3. Vendor profiles - profiles of key vendors in the corporate governance and related spaces, especially to create a list of acquisition targets
