Assignment Details

Our client, a renowned production house institute, is looking for a Business Head. This role will involve setting up, operationalizing, and establishing market presence for a new music label under the client's name. The consultant will be overseeing business and creative aspects concerning the label: from strategic direction, creative production, finance and operations, digital initiatives to decisions involving artists and talent on the label’s roster. In doing so, you will be serving as the link between key internal stakeholders, internal departments, artists, and label partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape the long-term strategic vision and roadmap (launch to maturity) for the label to establish itself in the Indian music landscape
  • Drive content strategy play for artists across label groups, streaming, digital as well as live performances, brand sponsorships & events
  • Work alongside internal stakeholders on negotiate content hosting and distribution deals with licensors/licensees
  • Leverage key talent/creative artists relationships to structure innovative deals and drive growth
  • Work with brand partnerships team to identify and secure new creative-commercial opportunities for sustainable business growth
  • Plan, organize and execute artist/projects’ marketing & communication campaigns keeping in mind the long-term positioning objectives and earmarked budgets & project’s P&L
  • Chart out timelines for high impact product and campaign releases
  • Record and track performance of projects across all markets/territories and benchmark them against industry projects
  • Design pitch documents and updates for internal stakeholders and external business partners (commercial, D2C, publicity, digital, etc.)

 

 

Skills Required

  • Experienced business leader with 10-15 years of experience and a proven track record of delivering strategic and commercial objectives, within the music space
  • A good ear for music along with understanding of streaming, emerging trends, data analysis, other avenues of music monetization and reporting tools
  • Building value-driven brands/businesses from the ground up
  • P&L Management, growth strategy & new business development
  • Forging strong relationships with artists, managers, partners, and music/creative fraternity
  • Developing and nurturing an in-house team
  • Courage to challenge status quo and exhibiting the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics
