Assignment Details

Our client, a leading Indian conglomerate, is looking for an independent consultant who can deliver the following responsibilities :

 

Accounting & Reporting

  • Work on accurate and timely financial reporting for both group and local statutory reporting
  • Execute daily operations in collaboration with 3rd party accounting and tax teams as well as external audit teams
  • Act as a single point of contact for all the operational activity/queries both from FSS and 3PSP. Lead resolution of any gaps identified / issues raised; guide the business / 3PSP for closure and assist in statutory audit, internal audit & ensuring process is GFCF compliant
  • Perform variance analysis and analytical review on financial statements
  • Be the part of month-end closing activities in line with deadlines by proactive planning and communicating with stakeholders
  • Contribute to a broad range of other financial controlling & accounting activities and projects
  • Perform GL account reconciliations in line with the control requirements

 

Risk Management & Controls

  • Follow the risk management agenda, work on high-quality risk assessments
  • Understand root causes of issues and identify where controls are not operating and work on remediation through relevant business leaders and wider Controlling Team
  • Ensure that the Global Financial Controls Framework is embedded and operating in line with the agreed global model
  • Maintain and enforce relevant local authority schedules

·        Participate in Control Health Indicators (CHI) meetings and providing expertise & support

 

Internal & External Assurance

  • Liaise with Corporate Audit & work on any follow up actions

·        Collaborate with external auditors during the audit processes

  • Implement required standards of risk control and maintain insurance against risks specified in the Global Insurance & Risk Control Standard

 

Local Treasury Operations

  • Conducting relationships with banks and other financial service providers, addressing issues and escalating where need be (Instead of Manage local bank relations)
  • Following up bank statements, clearings and postings of bank transactions in SAP and making sure that all transactions are recorded
  • Day-to-day execution and/or supervision of bank activities
  • Performing bank reconciliations of SAP balances with Bank Statements
  • Being part of month-end closing activities in line with deadlines by proactive planning and communicating with stakeholders and performing relevant Month End Closure controls
  • Following up bank guarantees received and given
  • Reviewing interest accrual and FX valuation calculations and posting in SAP
  • Work closely with Global Treasury and secure sufficient and cost-efficient liquidity, financing and FX hedging considering all relevant FX, tax, legal and operating constraints
  • Provide oversight to Treasury operations to ensure compliance to the Global Treasury Standard
  • Manage local bank relations
  • Implement required standards of risk control and maintain insurance against risks specified in the Global Insurance & Risk Control Standard

 


 

Skills Required

  • Strong financial, numeracy and Excel skills including accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to operate complex financial systems. 
  • Strong organisational skills including planning, developing, implementing and maintaining financial administrative systems. 
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage demanding priorities and deadlines. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English including the ability to explain financial information to non-finance staff. A second language such as French would be an advantage.
  • Self-confident and with excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work individually as well as in a team, sometimes under considerable pressure.
  • Ability to determine own priorities and appropriately respond to changing priorities.
  • Good political judgement, including an appreciation of how to handle sensitive and confidential issues. 
  • Ability to analyse data and communicate complex issues in a clear and engaging manner to a range of audiences providing clear recommendations for decisions. 
  • Able to inspire, educate, motivate and influence others.
