We are seeking a MEP Engineer to handle execution, installation, and commissioning of Water Treatment Systems including DI (Deionized Water Plant), ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant), and ZLD (Zero Liquid Discharge System) for a 7GW Solar Cell Manufacturing Facility.
The role involves end-to-end site coordination, contractor supervision, quality assurance, testing & commissioning, and compliance with environmental and semiconductor-grade water standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Execution & Site Supervision
Supervise installation of:
o Raw Water Treatment Plant (RWTP)
o RO systems (Single/Double pass)
o EDI / Mixed Bed polishing units
o DI Water storage & distribution loops
o ETP including neutralization, coagulation, clarifiers
o MEE / ATFD / Crystallizer systems under ZLD
Monitor piping works (HDPE, UPVC, SS316L) and pump installations.
Ensure execution as per P&ID, GA drawings, and approved GFC drawings.
Coordinate with civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
2. DI Water System Handling
Ensure ultra-pure water quality for solar cell process tools (wet benches,
texturing, cleaning).
Monitor conductivity, resistivity (≥ 15–18 MΩ-cm), TOC levels.
Oversee loop flushing, passivation, and hydro testing.
Ensure proper slope and return line balancing in DI loops.
3. ETP & ZLD Operations Integration
Supervise segregation of acidic, alkaline, and fluoride streams.
Ensure pH correction, sludge handling, and chemical dosing systems.
Oversee evaporator systems, crystallizer operation, and salt recovery.
Ensure compliance with Pollution Control Board norms.
4. Testing & Commissioning
Conduct:
o Hydro testing and flushing
o Trial runs of RO, EDI, and MEE systems
o Performance Guarantee (PG) tests
Validate automation logic (PLC/SCADA integration).
Support vendor FAT/SAT activities.
5. Safety & Environmental Compliance
Ensure safe chemical handling (HCl, NaOH, coagulants).
Enforce confined space and hot work permits.
Maintain environmental compliance documentation.
Ensure zero untreated discharge policy.
6. Documentation & Coordination
Maintain daily progress and quality reports.
Review vendor drawings and technical submittals.
Track BOQ quantities and contractor billing certification.
Prepare as-built documentation and O&M handover files.
Required Qualifications:
- B.Tech / BE in Chemical / Environmental / Mechanical Engineering
- 3–8 years of experience in:
o Industrial Water Treatment / DI Plants
o Semiconductor / Solar / Pharma / Large Manufacturing utilities
- Experience in large greenfield industrial projects preferred.
