Our client is an international, nonprofit global health organization and is looking for
Surveillance and Sequencing Consultant
Responsibilities:
- Assist the technical team at PATH to create output documents based on
sequencing technology
- Liaise with state stakeholders and laboratory staff for regular information on
sequencing capacity use
- Participate and contribute to strengthening and expanding the genome
sequencing capacity for COVID-19
- Identify and document newer protocols for sequencing
- Identify and document procedures for effective lab data management, data
sharing and data analysis for meaningful interpretation.
- Prepare reports as required, working closely with supervisor, program team
and the donors.
- Support in documentation of various project results & processes, and
development of success stories and fact sheets for strategic sharing and
dissemination.
- Regularly review relevant new research and possibility of expanding
sequencing to other disease areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to achieve the project
goals.
- Ability to understand and analyze sequencing data.
- Ability to produce documents and reports of professional quality and
coordinate activities independently.
- Excellent scientific documentation skill
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Hindi required.
- Computer skills demonstrating competency in MS Office Suite
-Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines
- Ability to multitask and work in a multi-cultural team.
- Ability to develop productive working relationships with other team members,
agencies, stakeholders and other organizations.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Master’s in Medical Laboratory Sciences or Epidemiology or Microbiology or
MPH with clinical degree.
- PhD in sequencing or bioinformatics with relevant experience in a sequencing
laboratory.
- At least 3 years’ experience in implementing Lab programs and 1 years of
experience in carrying out or managing whole genome sequencing.
Experience in developing quality scientific and non-scientific documents
- Experience in carrying out primary research and knowledge in principles of
surveillance.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles/techniques and demonstrated ability
to design and facilitate learning opportunities for adults.
- Understanding of Global Health and development approaches with
willingness to learn the technical side of program implementation.
- Familiarity with the Indian public health system, newer initiatives in health
sector and relevant government policies/ strategies particularly National
Health Mission, and Ayushman Bharat.
