Assignment Details

Our client, a top-tier management consulting firm, is looking to engage with a Consultant.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Leverage your prior knowledge about greenfield plants set up in various industrial infrastructure/complex EPC sectors to provide management consulting/ advisory services for the construction of a semiconductor manufacturing facility
2. You will be working with a central team of management consultants to coordinate with various onsite teams and industry experts to deliver project management services
3. Activities (indicative, non-exhaustive list)

Support in construction activities in project planning:
-Develop and implement construction plans, schedules, and budgets for semiconductor manufacturing setup projects.
-Coordinate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables
-Vetting to evaluate facility's design and layout, ensuring it meets industry standards and specific requirements
-Review and approve design documents, including blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

Vendor management and installation oversight:
-Oversee all aspects of construction activities, including site preparation, foundation work, structural installations, utility systems, cleanroom construction, and equipment installation.
-Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
-Support in evaluating vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to project specifications and timelines
-Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, identify issues, and resolve any construction-related challenges
-Interact and engage with onsite team and client team for seeking and providing project updates
-Work with central consulting team and onsite team to analyze data to identify construction bottlenecks, devise corrective solutions and convey suggestions to the clients and Nodal Agency

Budget management and cost control:
-Develop and manage the project budget, tracking expenses and ensuring cost control measures are implemented in alignment with the financial audit team
-Review and validate project expenditures, ensuring the reasonableness and accuracy of costs incurred

Compliance and reporting:
-Ensuring the applicant is on track to procure necessary licenses/ registrations/ permits/ clearances and adherence to the compliance requirements as per approved SOPs, applicable laws/ rules/ guidelines
-Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations, codes, and standards applicable to semiconductor facility construction
-Provide regular progress reports, updates, and presentations to senior management and project stakeholders
-Address and escalate any issues, risks, or delays promptly to mitigate potential impacts on project timelines

Skills Required

Must have:
-Significant experience (10+ years of relevant experience) in set-up management of large CAPEX projects, greenfield & brownfield expansions, etc. in the semiconductor (preferred) / life science and pharmaceutical / oil and gas / mineral / power grid/ data center facility construction
-Managed end-to-end set up of 1 Greenfield or 1 Brownfield project of minimum $300M
-Managed internal or subcontracted teams of 10 people minimum
-Expertise in greenfield set up plant layout, facility design, vendor onboarding and construction management
-Fluent in English (writing and speaking)
-High willingness to travel and relocate

Nice to have:
-Experience working with consulting firms (MBB, Big 4 preferred) – strongly preferred
-Experience in other complicated capital equipment management environment could be a plus, such as semiconductor, LED, solar, military, aerospace, automotive, large agricultural machinery, etc.
