Assignment Details

Our client, a top-tier management consulting firm, is looking to engage with a Consultant with a track record of delivering large capital projects (CAPEX) in a production or manufacturing environment and a passion for new technologies.

Key responsibilities:
1. Accountable for delivering large global and strategic important projects on time, within budget, and according to specifications
2. Lead the setup and configuration of large-scale semi-manufacturing facilities, including equipment installation, process integration, and workflow optimization.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and facilities, to ensure seamless coordination and timely execution
4. Oversee the implementation of robust manufacturing processes and procedures to meet quality, yield, and throughput targets.
5. Responsible for effective cost control, change management, and communications within the project team and developing and align project goals and execution

On-site project monitoring:
-Coordinate with the client on-site team to validate if the construction activities have been completed as per the scope of work –quality inputs & methodology
-Coordinate with client team for on-site equipment management for repair, calibration, spare parts management to maintain high traceability and usability
-Monitor and analyze KPIs to identify improvement areas and develop action plans
-Auditing the site work by doing regular site inspections – for construction, operations and maintenance, and quality control
-Coordinate with central team of experts to validate invoices raised by client and monitor usage of funds granted

Project status monitoring and reporting:
-Monitor, track & update project milestone, schedule (Plan v/s Achieved)
-Regularly apprise central consulting team and experts with project development and progress.
-Responsible for creating and submitting monthly Project Progress Report to Nodal Agency with the help of central consulting team.
-Monitor and flag any risks as they arise and devise mitigation strategies in coordination with the central team of consultants

Client coordination for data:
-Act as coordinator between overall program manager and client
-Interact and engage with client team for seeking and providing project updates and relevant data for analysis
-Share project data regularly with central team of consultants, identify performance bottlenecks, devise corrective solutions, and convey suggestions to the stakeholders

Skills Required

Must have:
-Significant experience (10+ years of relevant experience) in large CAPEX projects, greenfield & brownfield expansions, etc. and excellent project management skills as well as proven professional experience as a Project Manager in strategic projects in the semiconductor (preferred) / life science and pharmaceutical / oil and gas / power grid / mineral industry
-Managed 1 Greenfield or 1 Brownfield project of minimum $300M
-Managed internal or subcontracted teams of 10 people minimum
-Degree in engineering (Dipl. Ing. / M. Sc. / B. Sc.) or equivalent (mechanical / chemical / electronics / CSE) or MBA
-Proficiency using Microsoft Project and Office - Excel, PPT, Word etc.
-Expertise in budgeting, cash flow management, ROI, scheduling, resource allocation, and scope management/ delegation
-Fluent in English (writing and speaking)
-High willingness to travel and relocate

Nice to have:
-Experience working with consulting firms (MBB, Big 4 preferred) – strongly preferred
-PMP certification desirable. Demonstration of equivalent knowledge is required if not certified
-Experience in other complicate capital equipment management environment could be a plus, such as semiconductor, LED, solar, military, aerospace, automotive, large agricultural machinery, etc.
-Involve tactical coordination (scope, schedule & resource management) of multiple concurrent projects in a matrix environment, across multiple sites through the entire asset lifecycle.
