Assignment Details

Mobile data traffic is growing rapidly with almost 4,000 fold over the past 10 years. This puts immense pressure on the current wireless networks that are not built to withstand this level of user demand and we are increasingly seeing that wired networks with fibre at the core is the way to go.

We have taken upon ourselves to challenge the legacy of manufacturing fibre with the aim to drastically reduce the cost. Hence, we are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Expert who can help us improve and innovate the manufacturing process and tweak other related areas to drastically reduce the overall manufacturing cost.

Some key activities would include:
• Suggest ways to reduce costs by changing the manufacturing paradigm in material conversion using approaches from other industries
• Explore disruptive methods with respect to sourcing and manufacturing
• Explore disruptive material compositions with consideration of profiling, power distribution etc.
• Provide insights with respect to the limits of construction
• Suggest insights to achieve disruptive savings in energy consumption and on fixed costs

This will be the first stage of the discussion process which would include a week long, on-site engagement.

Skills Required

• Experience developing solutions and managing change in a fast paced manufacturing environment
• Experience of leading innovation initiatives related to manufacturing would be a huge plus
• Expert in technical and organisational troubleshooting to root cause
• Strong project management skills
