Assignment Details

Our client is looking for a Data Science Consultant to analyze data that the client gathers through its various marketing and sales initiatives. The data may largely be around consumers, including consumer personal data, purchase information etc. This role would be key in helping correlate the different data sets, mining them for key insights that will feed into our marketing, product development and sales activities. The role may be an individual contributor or could also be called onto lead a team of junior employees who will work to develop insights. The person should demonstrate a deep understanding of data science specifically dealing with consumer and transactional data, ability to create different data models and discern patterns from data sets provided.

Description of responsibilities:

This role will be required to develop integration data models between multiple disparate data sources and consolidate them into a single common data model, or enterprise data model. On a day-to-day basis, the successful candidate will be proficient in data modelling techniques, and well as capable of discussing and communicating business rules, and how to implement those rules in a data model. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining version control of the data model(s), as well as ensuring consistency between the data model and deployed instances of the model.

Skills Required

- Data science capabilities
- Experience dealing with consumer data and mining them for insights.
- Good knowledge of marketing and understanding of data nuances around marketing.
- Working experience in data analytics in CPG industry.
- Be able to speak to the differences in data modelling technology and philosophies of Codd, Kimball, and Inman.
- Understand and clearly define differences between entities, tables, attributes, and columns.
- Data profiling, assessment, and defining data changes needed to make the data the target level of business usefulness Data mapping from source to target data models. Design and Development of needed Data Architecture for their area of domain and ensures enterprise data is structured for ease of use.
- Governs the Data Flow & Model and Layering concept for their domain and ensure consistent and harmonized application.
- Develops and maintains an integrated, subject-oriented, predominantly conceptual and logical data model that represents essential data produced and consumed across the enterprise for a domain.
- Collaborative, good communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to pitch in and get the job done are essential characteristics for the successful candidate.
