Assignment Details

Our client is a leading FMCG Company, looking to engage a consultant for the Flavours & Fragrances and capability portfolio in the area of market intelligence, data analytics, cost modelling and building of technical knowledge for commercial use. The consultant will also be responsible for supporting price forecasting based on an understanding of cost drivers and feedstock dependencies.

This is a 6 month, full-time assignment based in Mumbai. Responsibilities & Accountability are shared below:

Flavours and Fragrances:
-Develop understanding of fragrance raw materials for 70% of the portfolio
-Material and cost drivers understanding
-Forecasting of flavours & fragrances quarterly projections

Market Intelligence:
-Preparing a detailed brief for requirements after interacting with respective Procurement Managers
-Responsible for delivery of Market Intelligence reports by self / liaising with vendors and agencies
-Deliver reports on customs data benchmarking, market trends for different type of materials in the space of Chemicals
-External Vendor Management

Cost modelling:
– Manage update of cost model through input data on feedstock, energy, manpower, capital, overhead cost
-Understand feedstock and process of manufacturing for material, to be able to define value drivers for cost of material, in terms of input material, energy, manpower, capital and overhead cost, for chemicals, packaging materials and food ingredients.
-Support in benchmarking the costs of different suppliers.

Analytics & Digital
-Carry out analysis of big data by use of tools such as regression, forecasting and other data analysis to identify opportunities to reduce cost
-Assess opportunity and lead digital transformation projects for the portfolio

Measures / KPI’s:
- Support in buying savings target of Flavours and Fragrances and identifying cost savings opportunities for Capability
- Support on ongoing strategic projects/digital procurement projects

Skills Required

-Technology understanding for manufacturing process of Chemicals, Fragrance/ Flavors /Food ingredients
-Entrepreneurial drive
-Analytical thinking
-Ability to communicate clearly and precisely to senior stakeholders
