Question You Would be expected to answer

  • Who are the key automotive players (i.e. OEMs) outsourcing chassis manufacturing? How does this differ between Passenger vehicles and Commercial vehicles segments?
  • How is the market demand expected to grow by model for these players? Are they launching new models for which Chassis making will be outsourced?
  • Who are the major Chassis manufacturers and what is their share of business with the top automotive OEMs? How is this expected to change over the next 1-2 years?
  • What is your view on performance of different Chassis manufacturers: Alf Engineering , KLT Automotive , Magna, Metalsa etc.
  • For which market segments do OEMs procure long/ side members and assemble the Chassis in-house? (e.g. M&HCV- by tonnage)
  • Is the share of roll-formed long members rising? How does the company make a decision between press vs roll formed long members? What % of the long member segment is likely to be roll-formed in the coming 2 years?
  • What are the current capacities of current roll formed long member suppliers? Is there a possible capacity addition by some of these suppliers and to what extent?
  • Who are the major Tipper Body suppliers (e.g. Hyva, JCBL etc.)? How competitive is this market?
  • What are the main criteria used by OEMs to select a vendor for Tipper body? Is this also done in house by some OEMs?
  • How do the roll formed long member suppliers rank in terms of quality / price etc? Will there be a change in share of business in future (any new entrants expected)?
