Raising an Invoice

Choose Service for the project deliverables. This is your monthly retainer, a milestone payment, or a day-rate billing.

Choose Reimbursement when you are claiming back money you spent while delivering the project. Travel, accommodation and courier costs are typical examples.

Keep them on separate invoices, even when they relate to the same month, for taxation and categorisation.

For service invoices, we recommend mentioning the ‘time period’ for which the invoice is raised. For example: ‘Supply chain consulting for February 2026’

For pro-rated service invoices i.e. if you provided for a few days, mention the exact days of when you provided your consultancy services in your invoice. For example: Consultancy services for 1-10 February, 2026

For reimbursement invoices, we recommend clearly stating the expense and when you incurred it to avoid payment delays.

Yes. Use Add Another Row in the Add Invoice Details section. Each row takes a description and an amount. Use this to break up a bill into components, for example, separate lines for two workstreams or two weeks of work.

Bank details are how you get paid. PAN or a Tax Identification number is a legal requirement for the payer. If you do not provide a valid PAN, TDS will be 20% instead of 10%, and the deduction will not show correctly in your tax records. Consultants outside India should give their local tax identification number instead. GSTIN is optional and it is recommended that you provide it if you are GST registered.
