Assignment Details

A top tier consulting firm is looking to engage with a Techno-Commercial Expert from the Telecom Industry for various B2B Products to drive a Cost Allocation and Capex Optimisation initiative as a part of their client based project.

The consultant would be required to:

1. Identify capex elements of the telecom B2B network

2. Detail capex elements for traditional products, and innovation/new products in the sector

3. Leverage technical and commercial knowledge of network equipments/elements/ routing matrix/ engineering rules to support costing decisions

4. Align product pricing with investment decisions and correlate with demand

5. Identify network design nuances to refine model and help align client on methodology from network planning/ design angle

6. Help use capex model for pricing decision

7. Analyse routing matrix to identify load weightage on various network components (i.e., how much capacity needed to serve one unit of demand by key network elements which drive capex materially)

8. Carry out topology of different networks like delivery options, recovery/ protection mechanisms, etc and help build client consensus

9. Execute strategies to identify regional cost allocation (both sales and delivery region)like where diffrent products are delivered in different regions while they use global capacity and shared infrastructure

10. Regularly interact with the network planning team

11. Defend viewpoint in front of Chief Technology/Network Officer during the course of the project, if needed

The project will also involve some travel to client locations

Skills Required

1. Thorough technical and commercial knowledge of the telecom B2B industry
2. In depth understanding of B2B telecom products- both traditional and growth/ innovative products
3. Extensive experience with network planning/design and capex optimisation in the telecom industry (pricing experience would be a plus)
4. Knowledge of network elements/ box level engineering rules used by network equ ilments for full suite of Telco B2B products
5. Excellent problem solving skills
6. Good communication skills
7. Prior experience of working in similar project/ consulting setup (even as an independent consultant) would be good
