Assignment Details

The assignment will be to support the Institutional Funding team in identifying new funding opportunities and developing compelling concept notes and proposals accordingly. We are looking for 1 consultant in each of the following themes - Gender, Health, Education, and Economic Justice but can re-configure the roles for candidates with cross-cutting thematic understanding.

The key responsibilities of the candidate will be -

• Identify new funding opportunities in line with Oxfam India’s thematic priorities- essential services (health and education), gender justice (violence against women and transformative women’s leadership), economic justice (small holder agriculture and natural resource management) and humanitarian response and disaster risk reduction (DRR).

• Develop high quality concept notes and proposals according to the specific requirements of the donor.

• Coordinate with the thematic and regional teams to develop proposals.

• Support the Institutional Funding team in other related work as and when required.

The assignment is for 6 months with a possibility of extending the contract further

Skills Required

• Demonstrated experience of writing winning proposals, especially to restricted donors like EC, DFID, UN and large Trusts and Foundations.
• Have programme implementation experience.
• Conceptually clear and analytical
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Ability to evaluate proposals and reports and make technical recommendations for improvement.
• Ability to produce clear and timely written communications in the form of proposals and reports.
• In depth knowledge and understanding of Project Cycle Management, Logical framework Analysis and other programme development tools.
• Numeracy, budgetary and financial reporting skills
• In depth knowledge of institutional donors and donor requirements.
• Understanding of donor compliance
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Willing and able to adapt priorities in order to respond to changing demands.
• Good administration skills and ability to multi-task
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Post Graduate in the field of Social Work or related stream with understanding of finance.
• At least 5 years work experience.
• IT skills: knowledge and experience of MS Office packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
