Assignment Details

The Payroll Process Consultant would be responsible to independently lead project teams to design and implement a system solution. They would be expected to run major global cross-functional projects of 12 months or more duration supported by teams of 20 or more members and oversee several work streams. They would troubleshoot independently, quickly finding the root cause of the most complex issues up to map processing and consult with business leaders to guide and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope.

Additionally the consultant would also have to apply advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and be regarded as a subject matter expert. They would frequently contribute to the development of new ideas and methods and work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. They would lead and/or provide expertise to functional project teams and participate in cross-functional initiatives. Act as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. They would frequently represent the organization to external customers/clients and exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. They also would provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and provide expertise to project teams during the implementation of a system solution
• Troubleshoot independently, quickly finding the root cause of issues
• Lead and provide expertise to functional project teams and lead cross-functional initiatives
• Partner with internal customers, examine moderately to highly complex issues or concerns to find a solution
• Use expert subject matter knowledge and research to identify and develop the business potential of a given project
• Solve most problems independently and articulate issues across functions and businesses, collaborating with other individuals contributors, sometimes outside of the job family, to bring about solutions
• Identify and implement process improvement
• Mentor and train lower level employees

Skills Required

Education and Experience Required:
• First level university degree with a focus in finance or computer science; advanced degree preferred.
• Typically 8+ years of experience.

Knowledge and Skills:
• Expert understanding of Payroll systems and processes in several areas.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Expert analytical skills and the ability to synthesize change quickly using advanced subject and process knowledge.
• Expert understanding of accounting principles.
• Expert project management skills for running large, complex projects.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize.
• Ability to generate original ideas and to bring about their implementation.
• PMI certification preferred
• Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
