Assignment Details
We are conducting a research project on television consumption. For this, we are looking for a consultant having technical development expertise relating to TV Set Top Box technology – software and middleware aspects.
Key responsibilities include:
• Advise on functionality of various components and their integration in an Set Top Box, such as identifying the effects and limitations of modification/ addition of components.
• Participate in all technical discussions with various stakeholders, and advise on various technical aspects as required during this project.
The consultant will be required to adhere to best practices of confidentiality and data privacy standards.
Skills Required
• Deep knowledgeable on the information/data flow within an Set Top Box
• Strong know-how of TV solution(s) core elements such as: Set Top Box & remote control as well as TV- middleware development including return path data, video streaming over cable or DSL networks
• Familiarity with core set-top-box and remote control hardware developments, DVB-S,-C,-T,-IP integration, STB OS, driver layers and development, RPD, CAS and DRM, STB chipset integration and roadmaps and third party app integration
• Relevant experience in the TV industry, ideally within a Cable/ xDSL operator or STB manufacturer in a product/technical role
• Relevant experience in defining or owning a product area, ideally in the Set-Top-Box and Remote control and TV-middleware/ third party app space
