Our client , a leading Indian pharmaceutical company is looking to onboard a Consultant Head of Engineering – Digital
Key responsibilities:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders (Sales/Marketing, Operations etc) & Product Managers to understand the business requirements and direction of the envisioned digital solutions. Design solutions and choose technologies that solve business problems while staying within constraints
• Work with the development and deployment teams to help build the front-end, back-end services and workflows and deploy in containers on public/private cloud platform.
• Lead and own the development and implementation of architecture strategy and standards pertinent to the Industry. Work with business and change management, development teams to help define the target state architecture and the roadmap to deliver against it.
• Introduce new practices, processes, operating model, techniques, products, services, technologies and standards where needed against identified use cases, via the appropriate governance bodies.
• Be business-driven and drive architecture direction through alignment with business structures and stakeholders
• Be accountable for the technology decisions and leadership of the appropriate governance bodies.
• Stay abreast of technology trends and advise IT and the business about potential benefits/impacts.
• Mentor less-experienced peers through both your technical knowledge and leadership skills
Skills Required
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent area, Masters preferred.
• Relevant advanced certifications in Azure, and certifications in other areas such as DevOps, IoT, etc. is highly desirable.
• 12+ years of experience in end-to-end lifecycle of software/product engineering using Agile methodology, solution/system architecture definition, software development management etc.
• Prior experience as lead of engineering is highly desirable. Must have worked in a multi-vendor environment with mix of vendors and in-house, and own solution build
• Strong experience in cloud-native containerized application deployment especially in Azure Cloud Platform
• Relevant experience in Pharmaceutical Industry recommended but not mandatory
• Strong experience in building digital solutions interfacing with core systems such as SAP HANA, SAP Successfactors, Concur etc.
• Hands-on experience of building highly scalable & secure business systems by implementing engineering practices such as design patterns, domain driven development, code refactoring, automated testing etc.
• Strong experience in broad variety of proprietary/open source technologies and ability to look under the hood. Hands-on development experience is recommended.
• Extensive experience in relational and non-relational databases
