Assignment Details
Our client, a leading global FMCG firm is looking to engage with a consultant having expertise in Procurement Technology for a short-term project in Mumbai.
Key Responsibilities -
- Contribute to the Partner to Win agenda e.g. New supplier/Technology
approvals, Capacity extensions, Reduce environmental footprint for key
suppliers/materials through proper material selection /process
improvements, Complexity reduction through Material Specification
harmonization
- Develop cost sheets for different supply sources and identify opportunities
for generating savings
- Support R&D/MET on Innovation/Rejuvenation scouting (especially upstream
opportunities)
- Contribute to the Material Strategies for the future by leveraging Market
trends & Industry Megatrends (technologies, materials, products)
- Contribute to Supply Base Analysis – Technology, Quality, Capacity, New
products , Competitor links etc & New suppliers
- Lead training of Procurement teams in technical areas as per business
requirements.
Challenges:
- Establishing effective relationships with the internal customers (Global
Procurement Managers, R&D and other stakeholders) as well as external
partners (Suppliers, Procurement Intelligence Agencies etc.) is key to the
delivery.
This is a Global role supporting multiple stakeholders based in different time
zones: Working across organizational and cultural boundaries independently
without direct hierarchical control of resources.
Skills Required
- 3+ years of experience in Product/ Process or Technology development/ deployment, Manufacturing preferably within FMCG
- B.Sc/ B.E./B.Tech, M.Sc/M.S./M.E./M.Tech, PhDs in Chemistry/Chemical
Engineering/Oils &Surfactants/ Industrial Engineering are desired/preferred --- Ability to work in a hugely diverse, cross cultural business environment
- Strong Analytical and data interpretation skills
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently
- Problem solving skills to analyse the situation & take decisions to support the business needs
