Assignment Details

We are looking for a Consultant with experience in advocacy and strong government relations to join our team for a short term engagement. The consultant would be required to :

1. Develop an overall strategy to understand the areas for policy/advocacy focus within health and nutrition based on
* Current portfolio of grants - focus areas, geographies, objectives for impact
* Overarching goals for the organisation for the next 3-5 years
* Position and focus areas of other donors, partners
2. Build alignment around the strategy with key stakeholders in India and in the US - and with key donor partners as needed
3. Develop an approach and road map to get the strategy underway e.g., identify policy papers to be written, diagnostics to be done, etc
4. Create a broad implementation plan
5. Starting building relationships with the government and with other key stakeholders in the target areas.

Skills Required

1. Strong knowledge of health and nutrition
2. Experience working with the Health Ministry is a must
3. Understanding of the development sector / non-profit space
4. Excellent communication skills
5. Prior exp in advocacy is a must
