Business Context and Main Challenges of the Job :
· End-to-end mix development for innovations (new variants, new benefits, new formats, new business models)
· Works with a team of internal and external partners to write concepts, validate with consumers, create products, communication and manage supply chain execution till it is ready to be handed over to the operating teams on the ground who will take this into execution.
· In essence, we want to see if there are new ‘fluid organisational models’ where we can get people on a contractual basis to run projects which typically are run until now by internal marketing resources.
· We want to experiment to see if someone from the outside can still manage to create and execute projects and better understand the implications of this on quality and time vs doing this internally.
Main Accountabilities :
· Builds a holistic understanding of consumers and shoppers in developing consumer and shopper insights and turn these in to growth opportunities.
· Develops consumer relevant concepts based on consumer and shopper insights to develop, explore and evaluate ideas with consumers.
· Leads and champions the brand communication, creative development process (advertising and packaging), working with agencies to deliver strategically sound messages in line with communication strategy. Works closely with local Brand Building teams in the deployment of brand communication idea for local markets and channels.
· Develops an integrated product, pack, price and communication mix and trade proposition for mix test/simulated test markets to test market potential in key countries.
· Leads cross-functional innovation teams (using relevant tools to support decision making and communication) including local Brand Building teams, supply chain and customer and category development in the region to ensure successful implementation.
Location: Across SEAA markets – Unilever office are in Singapore, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok, Manila, Sydney, Kuala Lumpur, Yangon. Ideal candidates to be based in these locations but we could also be open to outstanding candidates in other locations who can still work agile and remote.
The role will report into relevant internal marketing leaders – either at a Director level of senior brand manager level.
Relevant Experience
· More than 5 years experience in Brand Development and Brand Building in either personal care / household care / refreshments / food
· Developing concepts and brand communication
· Proven record in project management preferably at global/regional level.
· Good business understanding
